Impressive Ramonti takes QEII win

Half of a Churchill Downs barn that was put under quarantine last Friday had the restriction lifted Tuesday, allowing the horses to return to regular training. The Kentucky Department of Agriculture imposed the quarantine after a horse in Barn 47 was found to be infected with equine herpes virus. The 40-stall barn is divided by a firewall, the track said.

A field of 11 was entered for the 81st running of the Pattison Canadian International (G1) at Woodbine on Saturday, headed by 2-1 favorite Thundering Blue in post position #2. Also on the card is the E.P. Taylor (G1) for the fillies and mares, the Nearctic (G2) for the turf sprinters, and the Ontario Derby (G3).

Nobiz Like Shobiz is 2-for-2 on the turf. The 3-year-old colt won the $500,000 Kent Stakes at Delaware Park on Saturday, edging Twilight Meteor by a nose to top $1 million in career earnings. Nobiz Like Shobiz, who finished 10th in the Kentucky Derby, won his turf debut Aug. 6 when the son of Albert to Great captured the National Museum of Racing Hall of Fame Stakes at Saratoga.
