Dickinson beats Lady Eli under the wire

Kentucky Derby winner Street Sense closed out his career Saturday with a disappointing fourth in the $5 million Breeders’ Cup Classic at Monmouth Park. Jockey Calvin Borel had the colt perfectly positioned for a rail-skimming victory, just like his win last year in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile. Street Sense, the 5-2 favorite, had a wide opening in the lane but lacked a finishing kick.

Saturday at Belmont Park, Diversify led all the way to win the 2017 Jockey Club Gold Cup (G1), holding off the late close of favorite Keen Ice by a length. Also on the card, Yoshida won the Hill Prince Stakes (G3). Get the results, charts, and photos here.
