Teuflesberg was resting comfortably Thursday after successful surgery to fuse two broken bones in the 3-year-old gelding’s left front leg. Teuflesberg fractured two sesamoid bones when he took a misstep along the backstretch during Saturday’s Phoenix Handicap at Keeneland. Larry Bramlage, orthopedic surgeon for horses at Rood and Riddle, said it’s too early for a long-term prognosis.
