Baby Bird overcame a fumble by jockey Cornelio Velasquez to win her comeback Friday in the featured $60,000 allowance race for fillies and mares at Belmont Park. Making her first start since November because of a knee injury, Baby Bird dug in to hold off Windy by a head. There was an anxious moment in the stretch when Velasquez dropped a rein.
