The 2019 Korn Ferry Tour season came to a close Monday in Evansville, Indiana as the Korn Ferry Tour Championship presented by United Leasing & Finance wrapped up with a Labor Day finish. England’s Tom Lewis won the season-ending event in dominant fashion at 23-under, five strokes clear of second-place finisher Fabián Gómez. The first 25 cards were earned at the conclusion of the WinCo Foods Portland Open presented by KraftHeinz earlier this month, while the second set of cards were awarded at the conclusion of the three-event Finals. Scottie Scheffler won both the season-long and Finals Points Lists this season on the strength of two victories at the Evans Scholars Invitational and the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship. He is the first player to win both titles since Chesson Hadley accomplished the feat in 2017. Scheffler was steady throughout the 2019 season with 10 top-10 finishes and he also led the Korn Ferry Tour in birdies and scoring average. By virtue of winning the Points List, Scheffler earns fully exempt status throughout the 2019-20 season which begins next week at A Military Tribute at the Greenbrier. With his fully exempt status, Scheffler also earned a place in THE PLAYERS Championship. Indiana native Chris Baker, who missed his PGA TOUR card by one spot during the Regular Season, locked up his first PGA TOUR card with a dramatic six-foot putt on the final hole. Former Masters low amateur Doug Ghim also locked up a TOUR card on the final hole. The 23-year-old got up-and-down from a greenside bunker on the 72nd hole, punctuated with an emphatic fist pump, to join a host of former Texas Longhorns on the PGA TOUR.
