Gary Woodland wasn’t making any putts until he chipped in for birdie, and then he couldn’t miss. Woodland broke away from a five-way tie for the lead Friday by running off five straight birdies, and then finishing with one more for another 6-under 67 that gave him a three-shot lead going into the weekend at the Sentry Tournament of Champions. “The big deal was just staying patient on the greens,” Woodland said.

Golf: Molinari and Points ace same hole at Bay HillGolf: Molinari and Points ace same hole at Bay Hill

Francesco Molinari and D.A. Points each recorded a hole-in-one at the par-three seventh at the Arnold Palmer Invitational in central Florida on Thursday, doubling in one day the number of aces at the hole in the past 40 years. British Open champion Molinari used a four-iron on a cool morning at the 203-yard hole, while Points brought out his six-iron in warmer afternoon conditions at Bay Hill. quot;Just flushed it straight at the flag and luckily it went in,” Italian Molinari told reporters after a three-under-par 69 that left him four shots behind first round leader Rafa Cabrera Bello.

Klay Thompson captures Marshawn Lynch’s fantastically awful golf swing in hilarious videoKlay Thompson captures Marshawn Lynch’s fantastically awful golf swing in hilarious video

We know of a lot of famous athletes with terrible golf swings, but Marshawn Lynch might take the cake. Very good golfer Klay Thompson hosted a golf tournament in San Francisco over the weekend that found him paired with not very good golfer Lynch, and Thompson decided to record a few of Lynch’s swings. To say that the results weren’t pretty would be kind. In one of Thompson’s videos, Lynch at least makes contact on his swing, but he slices it just a little bit. Or a lot. Another video of Lynch’s swing surfaced, in which he just misses everything. He looks like he’s swinging for McCovey Cove at the Home Run Derby, and he should be wearing a backwards hat with that follow-through. Ken Griffey Jr.
