Stephen Curry has been diagnosed with a Grade 1 left hamstring strain after undergoing an MRI on Wednesday. Curry suffered the injury in the first half of the Golden State Warriors’ Game 1 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Curry has been ruled out for Game 2 on Thursday and his status for the remainder of the series is unclear. The Warriors expect Curry to miss at least one week with the injury, which could put him back in play for a return ahead of Game 5 at the Wolves on Wednesday, May 14.
This is the first muscle strain injury Curry has suffered in his NBA career, which creates some level of unpredictability on how quickly he’s capable of recovering.
A Grade 2 strain typically results in players missing at least one month of game time.
