LeBron James, Anthony Davis Had No Idea Of Trade Discussions; Luka Doncic ‘Stunned’ By Deal

LeBron James was at dinner with his family following the Los Angeles Lakers’ win over the New York Knicks when he learned of the Anthony Davis trade to the Dallas Mavericks, sources told Dave McMenamin of ESPN.

James was reportedly surprised by the news and had no idea it was being discussed, according to sources.

“The deal materialized in the shadows,” according to Shams Charania of ESPN.

Marc Stein reported that Luka Doncic did not request a trade.

“Luka Doncic, Anthony Davis, LeBron James, the players, coaches, a lot of people on both sides of the Mavericks and Lakers had no idea. I can assuredly tell you…LeBron James had no idea this was coming. Anthony Davis had no idea this was coming. I’m told Luka Doncic is still stunned about this trade,” added Charania.
