Suns Have Informed Teams They’ll Take On Salary In Trades

Matt Ishbia attended his first Phoenix Suns game since announcing he’s buying the team from Robert Sarver. That was seen a first step towards transition to Ishbia’s ownership of the team.

Another big change is that Phoenix has told rival teams that they are willing to move a first-round pick in trade talks to improve the team. In addition, the Suns have let teams know that they will take on salary ahead of the trade deadline on February 9.

In recent weeks, it was suggested that Sarver would need to approve any deals that put money on the Suns books. Now, it seems that Phoenix GM James Jones has the go-ahead to make whatever moves he feels can improve the Suns chances this season.
