Rockets GM: Could argue for ending awards
Mavericks forward Josh Howard was suspended Friday for the first two games of the regular season, punishment for a fight with Sacramento center Brad Miller earlier in the week. Howard was ejected from an exhibition Tuesday against the Kings after delivering a forearm to the back of Miller’s neck. He also pushed Miller, who had shoved Dallas guard Devin Harris to the ground.
The Brooklyn Nets have struggled to protect any lead, especially on the road, while compiling the NBA’s worst record. This time, Brook Lopez and the Nets answered every challenge from Atlanta. Lopez scored 23 points and the Nets beat Atlanta 107-92 on Sunday, handing the short-handed Hawks their seventh straight loss.
