Proprietary to adidas in partnership with BASF, BOOST is a lightweight foam comprised of thousands of popcorn-like TPU beads that are steam molded and pressed together in the midsole shape for specific a shoe model. The biggest advantage BOOST has over traditional EVA midsoles is its energy return. In fact, adidas says BOOST possesses an energy return of greater than 84%. Standard EVA materials are said to have an energy return of between 50% and 65%. Another benefit of BOOST is its durability. Over time, EVA will begin to collapse, but BOOST does not break down, and it maintains its properties even in extreme heat and cold. adidas first integrated the BOOST technology in a golf shoe with the adipower BOOST model in 2015. Later that year, the brand took another step forward by combining a full-length BOOST midsole with its 360Wrap technology in the TOUR360 BOOST. Adding color in the form of the black BOOST midsole on these special editions is the next progression in the evolution of the BOOST technology on the fairways. The special edition black BOOST colorway is available now in the TOUR360, TOUR360 Knit, and Crossknit 2.0 models.

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. – PGA TOUR and CJ Group officials today announced that THE CJ CUP @ NINE BRIDGES will move venues and will now be staged at Shadow Creek in Las Vegas, Nevada, Oct. 15-18, 2020 and will change to THE CJ CUP @ SHADOW CREEK. Since 2017, the event has been played annually at The Club @ Nine Bridges on Jeju Island, Korea, with Justin Thomas securing a playoff victory over Marc Leishman in the inaugural event and winning again last year. Brooks Koepka was victorious by four shots in 2018. "The PGA TOUR is truly appreciative of CJ Group's commitment to bring THE CJ CUP @ SHADOW CREEK to the United States this October," said Ty Votaw, PGA TOUR Executive Vice President, International. "While our players have always looked forward to visiting Korea, the current circumstances provided this new opportunity to bring the event to Las Vegas which will also provide brand exposure and awareness to the viewing audience in the United States and around the globe. As part of the early events on the 2020-21 PGA TOUR Season, THE CJ CUP @ SHADOW CREEK is slated to be played a week after the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open at TPC Summerlin in Las Vegas, Nevada. THE CJ CUP @ SHADOW CREEK will once again feature a 78-man field comprising of the highest ranked player of Korean nationality from the Asian Tour Order of Merit, up to five players designated by the KPGA and the top-3 available players of Korean nationality from the Official World Golf Ranking as part of CJ Group's vision to support the development of professional golf in Korea. The remainder of the field will be made up of the leading players from the 2019-20 FedExCup points list and sponsor exemptions. "THE CJ CUP quickly became one of my favorite events on TOUR. Jordan Spieth is returning to where it all began as he seeks to regain his FedExCup-winning form. The Farmers Insurance Open announced Wednesday that Spieth has committed to their tournament, which will be played Jan. 24-27 at Torrey Pines Golf Course in La Jolla, California. Spieth made his pro debut at the 2013 Farmers Insurance Open but has not played the event since 2015. That was the year that he won two majors and the FedExCup. Spieth, an 11-time winner on the PGA TOUR, has not won since the Open Championship in July 2017. He finished a career-worst 31st in last season’s FedExCup to miss the TOUR Championship for the first time. He is 191st in this season’s FedExCup standings after finishing T55 at the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open and missing the cut at the Mayakoba Golf Classic. He is playing his first event of the calendar year at this week’s Sony Open in Hawaii. Spieth has missed the cut in two of three starts at Torrey Pines. The exception came in 2014, when he shot 71-63 in the first two rounds while playing alongside Tiger Woods. Spieth received the Rookie of the Year Award that week while Woods accepted the Player of the Year honor. After holding the 36-hole lead, Spieth shot back-to-back 75s to finish T19. He’s broken par just twice in eight rounds at Torrey Pines.
