San Antonio Spurs center Victor Wembanyama is recovering from a deep vein thrombosis issue. Previously, Wembanyama said he planned to play for France at this summer’s EuroBasket competition. Now, Wembanyama says he’s not sure that will be the case.
“I don’t know if it’s realistic, there are a lot of uncertainties,” Wembanyama said. “…I obviously want to play in every competition with the French team.”
Wembanyama said he is aware of the deadline to let France know if he’ll be playing this summer or not. He also said he plans to take his time before making a decision, given health and conditioning concerns.
EuroBasket 2025 is set to run from August 27 through September 14. The competition will be hosted in Cyprus, Finland, Latvia and Poland. France will play in Group D, which includes host Poland, Belgium, Iceland, Israel, and Slovenia.
The NBA is moving to Nike having its jersey license starting in 2017-18, and the Charlotte Hornets are getting something different. While the rest of the league will have the Nike swoosh on their jerseys, Michael Jordan pulled those strings and made sure his Hornets would be under his Jumpman brand.
