Lowe, and podcast guest Bobby Marks of ESPN, both agreed that there’s been very little traction on a Lillard trade. That includes conversations with the Miami Heat, and other teams. Marks said he thinks Lillard would need to make things uncomfortable for trade talks to pick up ahead of training camp. However, Marks said he doesn’t think Lillard will do that.

Davis had two years and $84 million remaining on his contract.

Davis’ deal is the richest annual contract extension in NBA history, averaging $62 million a season.

“Couldn’t think more highly of Anthony Davis as a Laker and as a player,” Rob Pelinka said recently “He’s helped deliver a championship to our franchise. He’s been an incredible captain and leader.”
