Devonte’ Graham has created quite a buzz so far in his second NBA season, averaging 18.3 points for surprising Charlotte.
The Washington Wizards have shown interest in trading for Quentin Grimes of the New York Knicks. Grimes has drawn interest from several teams ahead of the trade deadline.
The Atlanta Hawks, Houston Rockets, Memphis Grizzlies and Utah Jazz were previously reported as talking about trading for Grimes.
The third-year guard has averaged 7.0 points per game. Grimes has seen a lessened role this year, as he’s started only 18 games and is averaging 19.8 minutes per game. Those are down from starting 66 of 71 games and playing 29.9 minutes per game last season.
The Wizards are believed to be looking to add young talent and draft picks. ESPN recently reported that Washington’s front office has a mandate from ownership to add more draft capital via trades.
If Utah is going to even its second-round series with Houston, it will have to contain James Harden, who scored 41 points in Game 1.
