Atlanta is getting a worthwhile project to take on in John Collins. Collins will be a developmental project during his early NBA years, but it will be a project worth taking on. Collins averaged 19.2 points and 9.8 rebounds per game as a freshman.

DeMar DeRozan had 23 points, Norman Powell added 21 and the Toronto Raptors used a dominant third quarter to beat the New York Knicks 116-101 on Sunday. Toronto outscored New York 27-8 in the third to take a 96-62 lead. DeMarre Carroll added 20 points, and Jonas Valanciunas had 12 points and 16 rebounds.
Despite Joel Embiid still recovering from surgery to address a torn meniscus, Team USA is counting on the big man for this summer’s Olympics in Paris. Embiid is still committed to playing in the games as well.
Embiid chose to represent the United States on the national team level this past fall. Embiid picked the United States over France and his native Cameroon, both of whom he was also eligible to play for.
The Philadelphia 76ers star had surgery in in early February to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee. The Sixers are hopeful that Embiid will return in late March. If he can return and stay healthy through the playoffs, that should open the door for Embiid to join Team USA this summer.
T.J. Warren bumped his scoring average to an NBA bubble-leading 34.8 points after torching the Lakers for 39 on Saturday.
