Joel Embiid’s return doesn’t have a fixed timeline yet, but the Philadelphia 76ers are hoping he’ll return before the end of the regular season. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski said there is “some hope” Embiid can return in late March. The Sixers believe that would give Embiid enough time to round into form ahead of the 2024 NBA Playoffs.

Wojnarowski also reported that Philadelphia is about a week away from getting a timeline on Embiid’s eventual return.

The reigning MVP was injured on January 30 in a game against the Golden State Warriors. He’s missed the 76ers last 12 games. During that stretch, Philadelphia has a 4-8 record.

Nick Nurse said that Joel Embiid’s injury which forced the center to leave the Philadelphia 76ers’ loss to the Golden State Warriors in the fourth quarter was not related to the center’s previous knee injury that held him out in recent games.

Embiid left the game after Jonathan Kuminga landed on his leg.

Embiid is scheduled for an MRI.

Nurse added that Embiid felt good before the Warriors game, and the medical staff was comfortable clearing him to play.
