Kidd’s triple-double powers Nets to win

New Jersey Nets' Jason Kidd, right, drives the ball down court as and Philadelphia 76ers Louis Williams defends during the fourth quarter of an NBA basketball game Saturday, Nov. 3, 2007, in Philadelphia.

Jason Kidd made it a nifty 50 with New Jersey. Kidd posted his 50th triple-double with the Nets, his box score stuffed again with 16 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists in New Jersey’s 93-88 win over the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday night. “Oh, he had a triple-double?” said teammate Richard Jefferson, with a smile.

There is a “genuine belief this could be the offseason [Lillard] seeks a change of scenery,” adds Haynes.

There have so far been no public indications that Lillard is entertaining requesting a trade from the Portland Trail Blazers.

The Blazers own the No. 3 pick in this week’s draft and Lillard has been clear in his preference for the team to add win-now players to the roster to improve their odds of becoming a contending team in the Western Conference again.

The Heat presumably could have offered the Washington Wizards a more attractive package of assets than the Phoenix Suns considering they own several of their own first round picks outright.
