Buzzer-beating victories for the Timberwolves are almost as rare as a balmy Minnesota day in January. Andrew Wiggins sank an 18-foot pull-up jumper as the game ended to give the Timberwolves a 112-111 victory over the Phoenix Suns. ”I wasn’t going to let no one stop me,” Wiggins said.
The NBA is investigating an incident between Celtics’ point guard Isaiah Thomas and a Washington heckler during Game 3 of the Eastern Conference semifinals last week. The situation in question was caught on video (note: link contains explicit language) as Thomas is apparently saying to someone in
Myles Turner will be an unrestricted free agent this offseason, but rival teams expect him to re-sign with the Indiana Pacers. For a player who has been in the NBA 10 years and only played for one franchise, Turner has appeared in an inordinate number of trade rumors during his career.
The Pacers lack depth at center behind Turner and would be unable to functionally replace him in free agency.
Turner averaged 15.6 points, 6.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 2.0 blocks in 30.2 minutes over 72 games this season. Turner also shot 39.6 percent on 5.5 three-point attempts per game.
If the Pacers re-sign Turner, they may need to explore a trade scenario to position their payroll amid luxury tax concerns.
