Madden’s SH goal helps Devils top Leafs

New Jersey Devils' goalie Martin Brodeur (30) makes a save but the Toronto Maple Leafs' Alex Steen (10) gets the rebound and scores during the second period of NHL hockey action at Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. Friday, Nov.2, 2007.

John Madden scored a short-handed goal to break a tie with 4:12 to play and Zach Parise added what proved to be a much-needed insurance tally minutes later to lead the New Jersey Devils to a 3-2 victory over Toronto on Friday night. David Clarkson added a goal and Martin Brodeur stopped 26 shots and picked up an assist as the Devils won consecutive games for only the second time this season.
