Ginger Punch gave Bobby Frankel a victory in absentia Saturday, holding off Hystericalady by a neck in the $2 million Breeders’ Cup Distaff. The Hall of Fame trainer was back home in Southern California tending to his 8-year-old dog Happy, who is ill. The Australian sheepdog is a frequent presence around Frankel’s barn.
