Kovalchuk, Thrashers top Blackhawks

Atlanta Thrashers interim coach Don Waddell talks with referee Bill McCreary during the third period of an NHL hockey game against the Chicago Blackhawks in Chicago on Saturday, Oct. 27, 2007.

Ilya Kovalchuk scored a tie-breaking goal early in the third period and set up Vyacheslav Kozlov’s two power-play scores. Kovalchuk connected on a breakaway at 3:51 of the third to snap a 1-all tie, as Atlanta handed Chicago its third straight loss.
