Drew Stafford and the Buffalo Sabres got the bounce they needed to beat the Florida Panthers. Stafford’s fluke goal with 8:48 left in the third period snapped a tie and helped the Sabres break a three-game losing streak with a 4-2 victory Friday night. “We’ve had some tough bounces go against us,” Sabres coach Lindy Ruff said.

Nick Bonino and Evgeni Malkin had different kinds of hat tricks Wednesday night. Bonino had three goals to help the Pittsburgh Penguins beat the Winnipeg Jets 7-4 for their third win in a row. Malkin scored his 30th and 31st goals had a ”Gordie Howe hat trick” – a goal, an assist and a fight.
