Dawes’ 2 goals carry Rangers over Devils

New York Rangers' Jaromir Jagr, right, of Sweden, moves the puck past New Jersey Devils' John Madden, left, during the third period of their NHL hockey game at Madison Square Garden in New York, Thursday, Oct. 25, 2007. Rangers beat the New Jersey Devils 2-0.

The Rangers rely on Henrik Lundqvist to lock things down on defense. They just never counted on Nigel Dawes to supply all the offense. Lundqvist made 22 saves in his second shutout in three games, and Dawes broke New York out of its scoring slump with two goals Thursday night to lift the Rangers to a 2-0 victory over the New Jersey Devils.
