Derby winner Street Sense heads short field for Kentucky Cup

Street Sense with jockey Calvin Borel passes the grandstand for the first time en route to winning the 138th Travers Stakes at the Saratoga Race Course in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. in this Aug. 25, 2007 file photo. Street Sense will likely be a short-priced favorite in a short field for Saturday's Kentucky Cup Classic at Turfway Park.

Trainer Carl Nafzger likes the idea of a short ride to a big payday. Street Sense, the Kentucky Derby and Travers winner trained by Nafzger, is the odds-on favorite in a short field for Saturday’s $350,000 Kentucky Cup Classic at Turfway Park, an easy drive up Interstate 71 from his home barn at Churchill Downs.
