There’s nothing wrong with home runs. The Rockies certainly aren’t going to apologize for how many they hit, and they were happy to see Charlie Blackmon hit his 11th of the season Friday, temporarily tying Washington’s Bryce Harper for the National League lead before the Nationals star went deep again. But if you were beginning to think the Rockies could only score when they homer, look what they did in the first inning Friday. They sent nine batters to the plate against Mets starter Zack Wheeler and scored five runs — none of them on home runs.
