Geoff Blum and Jake Peavy set the tone for what could be a wild 10 days in the NL West. Blum hit a go-ahead, two-run homer in the seventh inning and Peavy was brilliant again with 11 strikeouts, leading San Diego to a 3-1 win against Arizona on Monday night that trimmed the Diamondbacks’ lead in the NL West to two games over the Padres.
