In addition to dealing with the regular aftermath of their season coming to an end, the Denver Nuggets have some important decisions to make within the team’s leadership. Both Ben Tenzer and David Adelman are in interim roles as general manager and head coach, respectively.

Tenzer will reportedly be given a chance to become the team’s permanent general manager. He took over for Calvin Booth, when the former GM was fired late in the regular season. Tenzer has since led the Nuggets preparations for the draft and the upcoming offseason.

Denver hasn’t moved forward with hiring a new GM or head coach. Adelman is considered a strong contender to be named permanent head coach. The Nuggets will likely pick up the front office process shortly, as the 2025 NBA Draft looms just over a month away.

The Denver Nuggets season didn’t end as they hoped for, with a Game 7 loss in the second round to the Oklahoma City Thunder. However, the Nuggets played well enough that interim head coach David Adelman is now a strong contender to get that role on a permanent basis.

Nuggets governor Josh Kroenke didn’t address the spot permanently, but told ESPN how proud he was of his team.

“Outside of the championship, this is the most proud I’ve been because these guys have really rallied,” Kroenke said.

Kroenke made the decision in late in the regular season to dismiss head coach Michael Malone and general manager Calvin Booth. Adelman took over for Malone, while Ben Tenzer took over as interim GM.

Adelman received the backing of several players to take over as the permanent head coach. Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray and Aaron Gordon all praised the interim head coach for his work in a difficult situation, taking over right before the playoffs.
