The Phoenix Suns have informed all interested teams they are not trading Kevin Durant. Several more teams inquired with the Suns after they held talks with the Golden State Warriors. Durant was “blindsided” by his inclusion in trade talks leading to the deadline.

“There will be a full evaluation of this team if they’re not able to turn it around by the offseason,” said Shams Charania on NBA Today’s Trade Deadline Special.

The Suns were hoping to acquire Jimmy Butler at the deadline, but no deal involving Bradley Beal materialized. When that reality set in, the Suns entertained a Durant trade with the Warriors and are facing difficult potential decisions during the 2025 offseason.

Grizzlies Trade Marcus Smart, 2025 First Rounder To WizardsGrizzlies Trade Marcus Smart, 2025 First Rounder To Wizards

The Memphis Grizzlies have agreed to send Marcus Smart and a 2025 first round pick to the Washington Wizards for two second round picks along with Marvin Bagley III and Johnny Davis in a multi-team trade. As part of the trade, the Sacramento Kings will send Alex Len, Colby Jones and their 2028 second round pick to the Grizzlies for Jake LaRavia.

The deal creates roster flexibility for the Grizzlies by trading out Smart and it also could allow the team to do a renegotiate-and-extend deal with Jaren Jackson Jr.

Smart appeared in 19 games with the Grizzlies this season and averaged 8.7 points, 2.3 rebounds and 3.7 assists in 21.1 minutes. Smart is on a $20.2 million deal this season and $21.6 million for 25-26.

Cavaliers Acquire De’Andre Hunter From Hawks For Caris LeVert, Georges Niang, Three 2nds, Two SwapsCavaliers Acquire De’Andre Hunter From Hawks For Caris LeVert, Georges Niang, Three 2nds, Two Swaps

The Atlanta Hawks have agreed to trade De’Andre Hunter to the Cleveland Cavaliers for Caris LeVert, Georges Niang, three second-round picks and two swaps. The swaps are in 2026 and 2028 against picks that have already been swapped with the Utah Jazz, which means the Hawks will receive the second most favorable of the three picks in each year.

The two sides have been discussing a trade centered on Hunter throughout the week.

Hunter is averaging 19.0 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 28.7 minutes across 37 games with the Hawks. Hunter has a PER of 15.7, which is a career high mark with his three-point percentage hitting 39.3 percent on 6.7 attempts per game. Hunter makes $21.6 million this year and is set to make $23.3 million and $24.9 million the following two seasons.

The Cavaliers also dip below the luxury tax with the move. Atlanta is expected to make another move as this trade puts them into the tax.
