De’Aaron Fox Believed To Prefer Spurs; Rich Paul Will Be Open To Other TeamsDe’Aaron Fox Believed To Prefer Spurs; Rich Paul Will Be Open To Other Teams

The San Antonio Spurs are believed to be the preferred destination for De’Aaron Fox, who recently signaled to the Sacramento Kings he has no plans to sign an extension in the offseason. Fox’s agent, Rich Paul, recently informed the Kings that it would be wise to trade him now even if it isn’t to a team considered his likely destination of choice. The Kings will reportedly listen to offers ahead of the deadline despite currently being 10th in the Western Conference.

Paul is expected to listen to all calls from interested teams and will remain open about where Fox will end up.

The Miami Heat, Houston Rockets, Orlando Magic and Los Angeles Clippers are teams that have had reported interest in acquiring Fox.

Fox can become a free agent during the 2026 offseason if he doesn’t sign an extension.

Kings To Open Up De’Aaron Fox Trade Talks Ahead Of DeadlineKings To Open Up De’Aaron Fox Trade Talks Ahead Of Deadline

The Sacramento Kings are expected to open trade talks on a De’Aaron Fox deal ahead of the Feb. 6 trade deadline. While there are expected to be a number of teams interested, Fox is believed to already have a team in mind ahead of his 2026 free agency.

Before the start of the season, Fox turned down a three-year, $165 million contract extension with the Kings. Fox went on to say that he loves Sacramento, but also “wants to win.”

In December, agent Rich Paul met with the Kings’ brass in Sacramento, which opened up questions about Fox’s future. The Kings went on to part ways with Mike Brown as head coach and elevated Doug Christie as interim head coach.

The San Antonio Spurs are considered one of the teams positioning to trade for Fox, according to previous reports. The Los Angeles Lakers are not Fox’s preferred trade destination.

Fox is averaging 25.2 points, 5.0 rebounds and 6.2 assists in 37.2 minutes across 43 games this season for the Kings. Fox has made one All-Star team and one All-NBA team, which both occurred in 2023.

Raptors Emerge With Interest In Brandon IngramRaptors Emerge With Interest In Brandon Ingram

The Toronto Raptors have emerged with interest in Brandon Ingram, reports Marc Stein. Ingram was on the block during the offseason as he approaches his free agency, but the New Orleans Pelicans haven’t found a deal to their liking.

Ingram and the Pelicans have discussed an extension, but were apart on terms. Ingram is in the final season of his contract, which pays $36 million.

There is a belief that Masai Ujiri is motivated to return the Raptors to a competitive station in the NBA. Toronto begun their reset last season when they traded OG Anunoby and Pascal Siakam, which further made Scottie Barnes the centerpiece of their team.

The Raptors have been involved in a number of different conversations as the deadline approaches, particularly as a facilitator in a larger Jimmy Butler deal. The Raptors possess a number of trade-friendly contracts in Bruce Brown, Kelly Olynyk, Chris Boucher and Davion Mitchell.

In trading for Ingram now, the Raptors could add a proven veteran scorer at the deadline while still effectively maintaining a good probability for a high lottery pick in this year’s draft that could accelerate their turnaround.
