The New Orleans Pelicans have waived Elfrid Payton. Payton was recently signed by the Pelicans as they dealt with a number of injuries to key starters and rotation players.
Payton averaged 6.7 points, 6.9 assists and 3.4 rebounds in seven games for the Pelicans.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jayson Tatum have been named the NBA’s Players of the Month for October and November.
Gilgeous-Alexander averaged 29.8 points, 5.3 rebounds and 6.6 assists as the Oklahoma City Thunder went 15-4.
Tatum averaged 28.7 points, 8.5 rebounds and 5.8 assists as the Boston Celtics went 16-3.

Specifically, there were questions if James is tired after playing in all 21 games so far this season. James has a stated goal of playing all 82 games. That’s not something Lakers coach JJ Redick is sure he agrees with.
“I don’t know that’s in the best interest of him and us if he does that, but if he’s feeling well and feeling good, then he should play,” Redick said. “But we obviously want to manage that as best we can.”
As for James, he said he’s not moving off his goal…yet.
“That’s a goal, but we’ll see,” James said. “It’s something I ain’t discussing right now.”
After a six-game win streak to start November, the Lakers have dropped five of their last seven games. Los Angeles has fallen to eighth place in the Western Conference over that stretch of games.
