Paul George has been diagnosed with a bone bruise and suffered no structural damage to his left knee following a hyperextension in Monday’s preseason game. The Philadelphia 76ers say George will be reevaluated in one week.
George could miss the start of the regular season when the Sixers play the Milwaukee Bucks.
The Portland Trail Blazers have signed guard James Bouknight to an Exhibit-10 contract.
In three seasons with the Charlotte Hornets, Bouknight accrued career averages of 4.8 points (33.5% 3-PT, 76.2% FT), 1.7 rebounds, 0.9 assists and 11.4 minutes per game in 79 career games for the Hornets. During the 2023-24 season, the former 11th overall selection in the 2021 NBA Draft shot a career-high 43.3% from three.

Leonard has missed all three preseason games thus far.
“Continue to keep rehabbing. Keep getting better. Keep checking the boxes,” said Lue when asked about Leonard’s current status.
Leonard’s availability for the Clippers’ regular-season opener against the Suns on October 23 is also uncertain.
Leonard has not participated in any contact drills in training camp.
