The Dallas Mavericks currently have one open roster spot to fill on their regular season roster. The Mavs are considering a trio of veteran guards, as well as re-signing a veteran big man to fill out their squad.

Spencer Dinwiddie is high on the Mavericks list of potential signees. Dinwiddie considered returning to Dallas following being bought out by the Toronto Raptors after being acquired at last season’s trade deadline. Dinwiddie ultimately chose to finish the year with his hometown Los Angeles Lakers, but could return to the Mavs for next season.

Dallas is also considering signing former Mavericks first-round pick Dennis Smith Jr., as well as veteran combo guard Talen Horton-Tucker. Markieff Morris also remains in the Mavs roster plans, as he fills a vital locker room presence for the team.

The Boston Celtics and Sam Hauser have agreed to a four-year, $45 million extension. Hauser will now be under contract through the 2028-29 season.

Hauser has become one of the NBA’s best three-point shooters. He shot 42.4% on 5.9 three-point attempts per game last season. The 6-foot-8 wing also set a career-high by grabbing 3.5 rebounds in 22 minutes per game.

Boston’s payroll will now be in the range of $225 million for next season with over $200 million in tax penalties. Overall, the Celtics have committed to over $964 million in contract extensions over the last year for Jaylen Brown, Jrue Holiday, Kristaps Porzingis, Jayson Tatum, Derrick White and now Hauser.
