The Dallas Mavericks and Indiana Pacers are interested in trading for Andrew Wiggins, according to Shams Charania on Run It Back.

“The Mavericks and Pacers are two teams, I’m told, that are expressing interest in [Andrew] Wiggins to keep on eye on. But I don’t think [the Warriors] are going to move guys just to move guys.

“I think the Warriors need true reasons if they going to trade whether it’s a Wiggins, a Klay Thompson, a Chris Paul,” said Charania.

Charania added that the Warriors are in a “wait and see” mode but will not make any trades unless they move the needle.

There is no mandate from Joe Lacob to shed salaries.

Joel Embiid had a successful procedure on Tuesday to address an injury to the lateral meniscus in his left knee. He will be re-evaluated in approximately four weeks.

The Philadelphia 76ers maintain hope that Embiid will be able to return this season.

Embiid is averaging 35.3 points, 11.3 rebounds, 5.7 assists and 1.7 blocks in 34 games this season.

Embiid was the clear leader in the ESPN MVP straw poll in December, but he now will not play in enough games to qualify for voting even if he returns this season.
