Rich Paul has gone on the record to say LeBron James will not be traded by the Los Angeles Lakers.

“LeBron won’t be traded, and we aren’t asking to be,” Paul said in reaction to some growing speculation about James’ future ahead of next week’s trade deadline.

James contributed to speculation about James’ future by posting an hourglass emoji on his X account following a loss this week to the Atlanta Hawks.

The Lakers are active in trade talks as they look to improve their roster.

James has a $51.4 million player option on his contract for next season with the Lakers.

The Milwaukee Bucks and Los Angeles Lakers are among the teams who have reached out to the Memphis Grizzlies on a potential trade for Marcus Smart.

The Grizzlies have shut down all interest in trading Smart.

Memphis sent out two first round picks and Tyus Jones in order to acquire Smart last offseason.

Smart is signed through the 25-26 season on his four-year, $77 million deal.

The Golden State Warriors have removed Jonathan Kuminga from trade discussions following his recent surge in play, sources tell Jake Fischer of Sports Betting News.

Kuminga’s future with the Warriors had been uncertain throughout the past offseason and even as recently as January when a report surfaced that he had lost faith in playing for Steve Kerr.

Kuminga was considered available in trade scenarios at the draft and in the offseason with the Indiana Pacers one of several tams to express serious interest.
