Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green has been cleared for 5-on-5 work. Green’s status for Tuesday’s opener against the Phoenix Suns remains to be determined.
Green suffered a sprained left ankle in workouts ahead of training camp. The veteran big man missed the entire preseason and all practices to this point.
Charlotte Hornets guard Frank Ntilikina suffered a non-displaced fracture of his left tibia during Thursday’s preseason game. Ntilikina will miss at least the first four weeks of the regular season.
Ntilikina signed with Charlotte this offseason. He played for the Dallas Mavericks this past season. The Hornets are counting on Ntilikina to replace some of the guard depth they lost when Dennis Smith Jr. signed with the Brooklyn Nets.
The Oklahoma City Thunder have exercised their 2024-25 rookie scale team options for Ousmane Dieng, Josh Giddey, Chet Holmgren, Tre Mann and Jalen Williams.
These were fourth-year options for Giddey and Mann. Dieng, Holmgren and Williams had their third-year options picked up.
Teams have until October 31 to exercise rookie scale team options for the 2024-25 season.
Zeke Nnaji and the Denver Nuggets have agreed to a four-year, $32 million extension.
Nnaji will have a player option in Year 4.
Nnaji, who was the 20th overall pick, averaged 5.2 points and 2.6 rebounds in 13.7 minutes for the Nuggets last season.
