Suns Have Interest In Several Point Guard OptionsSuns Have Interest In Several Point Guard Options
The Phoenix Suns haven’t made a decision on the future of Chris Paul just yet. The Suns are exploring trades and various options for waiving Paul, should a trade not happen.
While doing that, Phoenix has eyes on other options at the lead guard position. Players linked to the Suns include Immanuel Quickley of the New York Knicks, Payton Pritchard of the Boston Celtics, Davion Mitchell of the Sacramento Kings, as well as Monte Morris of the Washington Wizards and soon-to-be free agent Gabe Vincent of the Miami Heat.
One player the Suns seem to have moved on from is Terry Rozier III of the Charlotte Hornets. While Phoenix has had interest in Rozier in the past, that seems to have waned.
Of the list of players the Suns are reportedly looking at, only Vincent is a free agent. The remainder would all need to be acquired via trade.
Blazers Plan To Re-Sign Jerami Grant; Have Shown Interest In Deandre AytonBlazers Plan To Re-Sign Jerami Grant; Have Shown Interest In Deandre Ayton
The Portland Trail Blazers fully intend to build their roster around Damian Lillard. That includes retaining a key free agent and trying to add outside talent.
Reports are that Portland plans to re-sign Grant, as part of their efforts to build around Lillard. Grant averaged 20.5 points with the Blazers last season, while shooting 47.5% overall and 40.1% on three-pointers.
The Trail Blazers have also had interest in trading for Deandre Ayton of the Phoenix Suns in the past. It’s unclear if acquiring Ayton could be a part of a deal that sees Portland move on from other players. The Blazers are considering trading Anfernee Simons and the third overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft.
