The Atlanta Hawks have hired Quin Snyder on a five-year contract to be their head coach.

Snyder is expected to make his debut as soon as Tuesday at home against the Washington Wizards.

The Hawks pursued Snyder immediately after firing Nate McMillan.

Snyder and Trae Young have both expressed enthusiasm about working together, and that partnership will go a long way to determining the success of the franchise. After a recent game, Donovan Mitchell praised Snyder in a private conversation with Young.

There are pronounced chemistry and leadership issues in the Hawks locker room.

Joe Prunty and the rest of the Hawks’ coaching staff are expected to be retained with Snyder for the remainder of the season

Saturday at King Abdulaziz Racecourse, Panthalassa won the featured $20 million Saudi Cup (G1) for Japan over Country Grammer.
