The MetLife MatchUp is a season-long, fan-based voting campaign. Across 18 PGA TOUR tournaments, two golfers from each event are paired head-to-head in a global fan vote on PGATOUR.com/MetLife. Fans vote for the shot which they believe best navigated a challenging course situation. Weekly winners will receive $15,000 for charity. From hitting a clutch bunker shot to playing the ball away from the hole on a steeply sloped green, setting up a perfect par save—past winners have made impressive decisions on the course demonstrating nerves of steel, shrewd strategy, and a hunger to win. At the end of the season, all 18 golfers will be eligible for the final vote where the winner will receive $750,000 for the charity of his choice. Previous champions include Andrew Putnam (2018) and Bubba Watson (2017). Their donations went to College Golf Fellowship, and the Studer Family Children’s Hospital and junior golf efforts in Pensacola, FL, respectively.
