In addition to winning the Farmers Insurance Open on Sunday at Torrey Pines, Justin Rose also made a big move into the top 10 of the Wyndham Rewards Top 10 standings.  Rose went from 40th to 6th in the FedExCup standings. The top 10 in the standings after the Wyndham Championship — the final event of the PGA TOUR’s regular season — will receive a portion of the $10 million bonus in the new Wyndham Rewards Top 10 competition. First place after the Wyndham Championship will receive $2 million, followed by $1.5 million for second, all the way to $500,000 for 10th place, the final spot eligible for a bonus. As the reigning FedExCup champion, Rose knows full well the value of these bonus opportunities.  Rose’s jump of 34 spots in the standings wasn’t the biggest of the week at the Farmers Insurance Open. Here are the top 10 biggest moves (tournament result in parentheses) in the FedExCup standings: 73 — Hideki Matsuyama (T3), 114 to 41 69 — Adam Scott (2), 84 to 15 61 — Scott Brown (T9), 151 to 90 56 — Sepp Straka (T13), 195 to 139 48 — John Huh (T25), T214 to 166 45 — Matt Jones (T13), 160 to 115 34 — Justin Rose (Won), 40 to 6 33 — Jason Kokrak (T20), 134 to 101 33 — Rory McIlroy (T5), 82 to 49 32 — Talor Gooch (T3), 59 to 27 LOOKING AHEAD Going into this week’s Waste Management Phoenix Open, five of the top 10 players in the Wyndham Rewards Top 10 are in the field, including the top three of Xander Schauffele, Matt Kuchar and Gary Woodland. Also playing are No. 8 Kevin Tway and No. 10 Cameron Champ. Kuchar, Woodland and Tway are the only players with an opportunity to supplant Schauffele as the points leader.
