Joey Votto notched a three-run double for the go-ahead hit in the Reds’ seven-run ninth inning en route to a victory over the Indians in the Ohio Cup. Adam Duvall also recorded a two-run double, and Jose Peraza and Eugenio Suarez each tallied RBI singles in the big frame. Cleveland starter Trevor Bauer racked up 12 strikeouts in an eight-inning scoreless effort, and Cincinnati starter Sal Romano held his own over 7 1/3 strong after yielding four runs (three earned) in the first two frames. Francisco Lindor drove in two, including a leadoff homer, and Jose Ramirez added a solo homer in the first inning, two batters after Lindor.

There wasn’t anything Joey Votto could do against Indians starter Trevor Bauer. Despite an 0-for-4 showing against the right-hander, the All-Star first baseman got the last laugh Tuesday at Progressive Field. Votto ripped a 3-2 fastball to the right-center-field alley to clear the bases, which gave the Reds (41-51) the lead after an improbable seven-run comeback in the ninth inning to beat the Indians, 7-4.
