The Mariners brought their boomstick and their broomsticks on Wednesday, topping the Angels, 8-6, on a walk-off two-run homer by Mitch Haniger in the ninth inning for a series sweep as the magic continued at Safeco Field. Haniger, who now has 16 homers and 52 RBIs, also doubled off pinch-runner Jabari Blash at first base on a fly out to right field to end the Halos’ threat in the top of the ninth. The Angels went ahead by two runs in the seventh on Nolan Fontana and Chris Young’s home runs, but the bullpen couldn’t protect the lead in a wild game.
