The Brewers finished a month of May in which they never lost back-to-back games while surging to the National League’s best record with a sixth straight series victory, coming from behind in the seventh inning on Wednesday for a 3-2 win over the Cardinals at Miller Park. Junior Guerra rose to the occasion, striking out seven in six shutout innings, as he faced off against the Cardinals’ top prospect Alex Reyes. The bullpen would allow two runs, and Christian Yelich provided scoring punch with two RBIs, including a monster homer in the seventh before Orlando Arcia’s game-winning single gave the Brewers the lead for good.

Phillies slugger Rhys Hoskins is likely headed to the 10-day disabled list, manager Gabe Kapler told reporters before Wednesday night’s game against the Dodgers, after a CT scan revealed a fracture in Hoskins’ jaw. Hoskins, who fouled a ball off his mouth in Monday night’s loss to the Dodgers, will fly to Philadelphia to see a team physician for further evaluation. There are surgical and non-surgical options for recovery.
