(Officialsportsbetting.com) – Dustin Johnson will make his first start since withdrawing from last week’s U.S. Masters when he competes in the Wells Fargo Championship at Eagle Point Golf Club in North Carolina from May 4-7, the tournament’s director said on Thursday. “We certainly are excited that Dustin will be joining us in Wilmington in a few weeks,” Wells Fargo Championship Executive Director Kym Hougham said in a statement. “More importantly, we are glad that he is OK and will be returning to the PGA Tour.” World number one Johnson, who walked off the first tee and withdrew from the Masters a day after slipping down a staircase and injuring his lower back, had been favorite to win at Augusta National.

The Orlando Magic have fired general manager Rob Hennigan, saying Thursday it was time to go in a different direction after missing the postseason for five straight seasons. ”We appreciate Rob’s efforts to rebuild the team, but feel we have not made any discernible improvement over the last few years specifically,” Magic CEO Alex Martins said Thursday in a statement. Magic assistant general manager Matt Lloyd was named the interim GM while the team searches for Hennigan’s replacement.
