Daniel Sedin scored a power-play goal 2:12 into overtime and the Vancouver Canucks beat the Chicago Blackhawks 5-4 on Tuesday night to end a six-game skid. With his twin brother Henrik Sedin screening goalie Scott Darling, Daniel Sedin connected on a high, long shot. The score withstood a video review for goaltender interference and snapped the Blackhawks’ five-game winning streak.

After losing a pair of front teeth, Sidney Crosby wasn’t available to discuss the highlight-reel, one-handed goal he scored in helping the Pittsburgh Penguins clinch their 11th consecutive playoff berth. Crosby’s teammates had plenty to say about it following the defending Stanley Cup champions’ 3-1 win over the Buffalo Sabres on Tuesday night. Starting from inside his blue line, Crosby picked up a head of steam through the neutral zone and weaved past all four Sabres defenders before lifting a one-handed backhander into the top right corner to open the scoring with nine seconds left in the first period.

DeMarcus Cousins enjoyed his most prolific performance yet with the Pelicans with 41 points and 17 rebounds, and New Orleans beat the Memphis Grizzlies 95-82 on Tuesday night. Cousins also blocked three shots and assisted on Anthony Davis’ crowd-pleasing alley-oop dunk. Davis added 19 points and 13 rebounds for the Pelicans, who won for the fifth time in six games while snapping Memphis’ four-game winning streak.

Cory Joseph had 19 points for the Raptors, and Serge Ibaka scored 16 before he was ejected for his role in a memorable fight with Robin Lopez during the third quarter. Jimmy Butler had 37 points for the Bulls, and Rajon Rondo finished with 24.

NFL veteran linebacker Manti Te’o has agreed to sign a two-year contract with the New Orleans Saints, according to a person familiar with the situation. New Orleans also is bringing back free-agent cornerback Sterling Moore. Moore’s agent, Andy Simms, said Moore has agreed to a one-year deal.
