Ottawa Senators goaltender Craig Anderson was just glad to be back around his teammates and to pick up a win. Anderson made his first start in 69 days and turned aside 33 shots as the Ottawa Senators beat the New York Islanders 3-0 on Saturday. Anderson left the club in early December to be with his wife, Nicholle, who is battling cancer, and returned to practice last week.

One thing interim coach Bruce Cassidy emphasized when he took over the Bruins was that he wanted his defensemen to look to do more offensively. David Pastrnak scored the tiebreaking goal with two minutes left in the third period, defensemen Colin Miller and Kevan Miller each had a goal and Boston won its second straight under Cassidy with a 4-3 victory over the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday. ”We’ve asked them to get involved,” Cassidy said.

Villanova had a surprising loss to unranked Marquette last month, a setback that bumped the Wildcats from the top spot in the AP Top 25. The NCAA Tournament selection committee was not swayed by one surprising loss. Villanova, No. 2 in the AP Top 25, was the top overall seed in preliminary rankings released by the NCAA on Saturday, joining Kansas, Baylor and undefeated and top-ranked Gonzaga atop the four regions.

Jason Day took one step back and two birdies forward to complete an 8-under 64 and join Jordan Spieth and Derek Fathauer as 36-hole leaders in the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. The Monterey Peninsula featured sunshine on Saturday for the first time all week, though it will be a race to get the tournament back on schedule. Day was coming off four straight birdies at Spyglass Hill when play was stopped by dense fog.

As much as it still hurts for so many Oklahomans to see Kevin Durant shine elsewhere, the Golden State star remains committed to the community he called home for nearly a decade. The place where he grew into the basketball player he is today, and the man he has become. KD departed Oklahoma City with fanfare on the 4th of July last year to chase a championship with Stephen Curry and the star-studded Warriors.
