On Monday night, a few days after sources told MLB.com that Wil Myers and the Padres were nearing a long-term contract extension, MLB Network insider Jon Heyman reported that the two sides had agreed to a six-year deal that includes one option year and is believed to be worth $83 million. The club has not confirmed the report.

For the fourth time in 30 days, the former All-Star guard flirted with his first career triple double and Paul George scored 19 points to help the Indiana Pacers hold off the New Orleans Pelicans 98-95. Teague finished with 16 points, 10 assists and eight rebounds – the closest he’s come yet this season.

Boyle scored the go-ahead goal late in the second period, and Tampa Bay opened this trip with a 2-1 victory over the Los Angeles Kings on Monday.

Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman played the second half of the season with an injured knee, although he was never listed on any injury report. Seattle coach Pete Carroll said Monday that Sherman had an MCL injury in his knee, similar to the ones suffered by quarterback Russell Wilson and wide receiver Tyler Lockett earlier in the season. Just like Russell never missed anything.
