Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Ladarius Green sat out practice on Friday, putting his availability for Sunday’s playoff game against Miami in doubt. Coach Mike Tomlin held Green out after expressing concern about Green’s performance in practice on Thursday. Green missed Pittsburgh’s final two regular season games after being put in the concussion protocol following a helmet-to-helmet hit against Cincinnati on Dec. 18.

The Oakland Raiders will be without star left tackle Donald Penn for their playoff opener against Houston. Rookie Connor Cook will be the first quarterback ever to make his starting debut in a playoff game with starter Derek Carr out with a broken leg and backup Matt McGloin limited by a left shoulder injury. Penn allowed just one sack all season protecting Carr’s blind side, according to Pro Football Focus.

Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill practiced on a limited basis Friday and might be available next week if his team advances to the second round of the playoffs. Tannehill worked with the scout team in his first practice since being sidelined against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 14 because of a sprained left knee. Before practice, Miami waived backup defensive end Jason Jones, signaling four-time Pro Bowler Mario Williams will likely make his playoff debut this week as a reserve.
