Peyton Manning set another record and the Indianapolis Colts are 7-0 again. Now, everybody can look ahead to the showdown with New England. Manning shook off a slow start to throw for 254 yards and two touchdowns and broke Johnny Unitas’ team record for career scoring passes in the Colts’ 31-7 win over the injury-plagued Carolina Panthers on Sunday.
The biggest crowd in stadium history wanted Marvin Lewis to go for it. So did the Cincinnati Bengals players, who assumed their coach would try to make a statement. In a way, he did. Instead of showing faith in his offense and going for a touchdown, Lewis decided to play it safe and kick a field goal that left the Bengals behind.

Defensive end Richard Seymour was active for the first time this season on Sunday after being removed from the New England Patriots physically unable to perform list. The five-time Pro Bowl player hasn’t played following offseason knee surgery. He returned to practice last week and was taken off the list Saturday.
