Bill Guerin’s power-play goal with 3.7 seconds left in overtime gave the Islanders a 4-3 victory over the New Jersey Devils after New York squandered a two-goal lead in the third period Saturday night. With Andy Greene serving a tripping penalty whistled with 30 seconds left in overtime, the Islanders captain got to a loose puck in front after it kicked around following a shot by Mike Comrie.

From the brink of elimination and the depths of a yearlong slump, J.D. Drew helped the Boston Red Sox force a Game 7. The struggling Red Sox right fielder hit a grand slam and drove in five runs and, behind yet another postseason gem from Curt Schilling, Boston battered the Cleveland Indians 12-2 Saturday night to tie the AL championship series at three games apiece.
