Daniel Alfredsson got his fourth point on Patrick Eaves’ power-play goal 4:28 into overtime and the Ottawa Senators stayed perfect in the exhibition season with a 5-4 win over the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday night. The Ottawa captain had a hat trick in regulation and Jason Spezza also scored for the Senators, who are 6-0 in the preseason and have one game remaining.

Rangers defenseman Marc Staal fired a shot in off the right post with 1:11 left in the third period to give New York a 3-2 win over the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday night. The final preseason game for both teams had a rough edge to it as the clubs combined for 31 penalties and several fights. Brandon Dubinsky and Nigel Dawes also scored for the Rangers (3-2-1).
